HUMAN A DAY
A selection of works from different periods. These are images of friends and relatives of the artist, portraits that she made on commission, individual images that she wanted to capture. Painting is a system-forming practice for the artist, she works almost every day, studying the versatility of human faces and characters. Katya opposes her artistic practice with the dehumanization, bureaucratization and polarization of society. To look closely at human beings is to remember that they are alive and complicated, filled with dreams and aspirations, desires and fears. Humanity is more than statistics or social hierarchies. In her work, Katya tries to look at humanity with love and, where possible, to restore confidence in the value and uniqueness of each individual human being.
