Gogol Center Theater, Moscow, 2016
A series of works dedicated to the Gogol Center team, one of the most prominent independent theaters in Russia, which was led by Kirill Serebrennikov until its closure in 2022. Scheglova actively collaborated with the theater for many years. This project is a declaration of love to all those who contributed to the creation of this space. 20 portraits of actors, directors, playwrights, costume designers, choreographers, lawyers, and accountants – a large group of individuals who built a non-revolving space and a hub of creative power and freedom. The paintings were initially displayed in the main lobby of the theater for its anniversary, and later found their places in dressing rooms and other communal areas of the center.
